We will duplicate the leg we have created for our table and align it in this page.
Duplicating an object in Maya:

Let's create three more copies of legs out of our existing table leg in Maya. Select the leg object. From the main menu, choose Edit > Duplicate (Or press Ctrl+d). One more copy would have got created. If you look into the scene, you can see that the duplicate copy that got created overlaps with the original object. Use the Move Tool to move one copy out of the other's position. Similarly make two more copies in Maya so that we have a total of four leg objects.

Aligning the table's components in Maya:
Switch the view to Four-View mode (Press-release spacebar). We are going to align the position of the legs relative to the table's top. It is best to do that using the top view in Maya. You may maximize the top view if you need. Now using the Move Tool in Maya, position all the four legs at the four corners of the table as shown in the image. Please don't bother about the position of the legs relative to the table's height. We will fix that as a next step.

Now switch back to the Four-View mode in Maya, select the front view by clicking on the view and maximize it. In the front view, you can see that the table's top as well as the legs are not in proper position relative to the height. Let's fix that in Maya. Select all the four legs (Click and drag a selection rectangle around the legs or, click on all the four of them in the top view while holding down the Shift key). Now move the legs so that the leg's bottom end touches the grid in Maya.

Now select the table top and move it so that it's base touches the leg's top edge. Refer the figure, if you have any doubts regarding the relative positions of the objects in Maya

Creating a table sheet object in Maya

Now that our table model is complete, let's create a sheet in Maya to decorate it. We can duplicate the table's top itself and make it thinner to create a sheet. Let's do it.

Duplicating the table top along with Input Graph in Maya

When you duplicate an object in Maya by pressing Ctrl+d or by choosing Duplicate from the Edit menu, the object that get's created won't have the construction history associated with it. Here we need the construction history to be duplicated along with the object, because we are going to modify some attributes of the duplicate object to make it suitable to model a sheet.

For that, Maya provides us with a special Duplication. Select the table top and click on the small box beside the Edit > Duplicate Special maya duplicate specialitem in the menu. Please make sure that you click on the box next to the menu item, as shown in the image. This will pop up a Duplicate Special Options dialog box in Maya. In that dialog box you will see a check box reading 'Duplicate Input graph'. Check it and click 'Duplicate Special'. This will create a duplicate of the table top with construction history also duplicated and associated with it. Move the duplicated object slightly above the table.

Now let's edit the input properties of the sheet object. In the channel box in Maya, select the item under the INPUTS and change the values as shown in the image.

When we increase the Subdivisions Width, it adds more vertices in Maya to the sheet along the width, and we can use those extra vertices to create the bend and all required in the table sheet.
