Since the arm spline cage has an extra vertex, we need to refine the region where the arm joins with the body. Refine the two vertices as shown in the figure (vertices in red color - see near the mouse cursor and above it) |

Connect the extra vertex in the arm spline cage using a line, down through the body along the newly refined vertices, to give continuity through the entire spline cage in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ). See the figure. |

Now we need to delete the unwanted duplicate segments, in the arm's intersection area with the body in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ). Select the duplicate segments that are marked in red in the figure, and delete them. Make sure that you keep the curved segments (if present) and delete the unwanted flat ones in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ). |
