You will notice that the reference figures’ surface is not at all properly filled. Don’t worry about it now. You will understand why it doesn’t fill properly in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) later. Now we have to pull out the vertices in the center of the model / character's face so that the face gets a 3d form. But there is one thing we need to take care when we select vertices in these meshes. The vertices where the lines overlap may be multiple vertices which may be simply overlapping. Hence we need to turn on Area Selection in the Modify Panel under the ‘Selection’ rollout. Now when we click a vertex for selecting it, the adjacent vertices to it within the Area selection tolerance range will also be selected.
