| Texturing
the Toy Duck
in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) - Tutorial
/ Lesson |
Select the Duck in the
scene, and the sixth slot
in the material editor.
Get the material Reflection_Chromic
from the
Mtl Library to
the slot and assign the
material to the duck.
Choose a diffuse colour
similar to that shown
in the figure. This will
give it a bluish glassy
tint. Reduce the Opacity
to 20.
In order to increase the
highlight of the glass,
change the Specular
Level to 120
and Glossiness
to 70.
Now, within the maps
rollout of Material Editor
in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds
max ), set the Amount
value of Reflection
to 30.
Click on the button to
the right of Reflection,
that reads 'Map
#19 (Chromic.jpg'.
This will take you to
the reflection map assigned
to the material. Change
the Tiling
values to 0.5.
Now, the rendering of
the duck in 3D Studio
MAX ( 3ds max ) should
look like that in the
figure. It will look more
realistic when we add
lights into the scene
in the next Chapter.
Save
the scene under the name
'int-lev4-room-textured.max'

Note:
Working with materials
in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) is
nothing but experimentation. You
don't have to remember any values
for creating a particular type
of material. When you were creating
the glass material, keep on rendering
before and after changing any
of the parameter values to see
the effect. With time and experience,
you will know what all values
give you the required results.
Don't hesitate to try things out. |
|
Once
again i appreciate your excellence
in self-learning. You have mastered
the texturing in 3D Studio MAX
( 3ds max ). Let's add some lights
into the scene to make it look
more realistic, in
the Next Chapter>> of
this tutorial. |
