| Tutorial
on Working with the viewports in 3D Studio
MAX ( 3ds max ) |
|
The viewports as you have already
seen are simple camera like
views through which you can
observe a scene. A scene may
comprise of several models,
lights, particles etc in 3D
Studio MAX ( 3ds max ). By the
word Model we refer to a 3D
entity – be it a ball,
a human figure, a car etc. I
hope these terms are clear now.
First of all we need a model
to display on the viewport.
Your window’s viewports
in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max )
are all blank now. right? Its
simply because you haven’t
created any models in your scene
yet.

| Creating
a Teapot using Primitive Modeling in 3D
Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) |
3D
Studio MAX ( 3DS MAX ) offers a large
no of modeling techniques. One of the
most simple modeling technique is Primitive
Modeling. By the word Primitive Modeling
in this tutorial, we mean that we will
be using only primitives to model our
required objects. For example if I’m
going to model a human using primitive
modeling in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max
) , I’ll create a head using a
sphere, neck using a cylinder and so
on. Each individual limbs will be created
using individual or combined primitives.
3D Studio MAX ( 3DS MAX ) offers a number
of primitives like Box, Sphere, Cylinder
etc. All these primitives and lots of
other features in 3D Studio MAX ( 3DS
MAX ) are available through the ‘Create
Panel’. The ‘Create Panel’
is one among a number of tabbed panels
present on the right side of the 3D
Studio MAX ( 3DS MAX ) window. |
